I confess that I can’t wait to change my Facebook picture to this seminal classic–the best holiday card ever produced (and remember, my mom did this over 20 years ago before cool computer programs and Pinterest). I actually remember this being taken too which is hilarious to think of. We were not happy. Bah Humbug.
Speaking of bah humbug, I confess that I would give Father Time his hour back happily because this whole getting dark thing so early is already weighing on me. Every year, it’s the same thing. I think we have to lie to ourselves and forget how bad the winters are in the dark, particularly in the Windy City because if we thought about the depressing hibernation about to take place, we would all just weep constantly.
I confess that I am still removing books from my apartment. Everything is sorted and I know what I am keeping and what I am giving away. Those books that are leaving are bagged but because of my back issues, I can honestly only lift one bag a day without having consequences the next day (and there were bags upon bags upon bags). I think I have three or four bags left. Here’s why I am getting rid of books.
I confess that I am about 90% finished with my Christmas shopping which is quite exciting to me. It all arrived too (I did a lot of shopping online) and my little apartment is bursting at the seams which is a bit overwhelming. Also overwhelming? The thought of wrapping everything. (I wonder who first decided that gifts should be wrapped. I mean, I love wrapping one to two presents beautifully with gorgeous presentations but…It can be a lot). Speaking of presents, DO NOT miss the VIB Sephora sale (20% off, baby!).
I confess if I had it my way my tree would be up and my apartment decorated. Again, it’s a matter of my back and stretching out the work so that I can function well. Yes, that picture is from last year.
