5 Favorite Summer Nail Polishes.

5 Favorite Summer Nail PolishesI am very DIY about my nails. Since I have mixed feelings about going to a salon (who doesn’t love to be pampered? On the other hand, you hear horror stories in the news and so every time I go, I feel like I am taking a risk. Oh and the deciding factor is money, obviously) I figured out a way to make my nails last at home. If I told you the number of polishes I own, you may freak out. To be honest, I haven’t counted but they are very neatly organized now. Needless to say, I am on nail polish freeze which is fine because to be honest, especially in the summer, I have go to colors. This includes my numero uno, the best and most surprising favorite.

So, 5 Favorite Summer Nail Polishes:

1. OPI Cajun Shrimp

This is numero uno because not only is it the perfect coral but it is beyond flattering on everyone. I didn’t wear it for the longest time because a. I am snotty about my nail polish names and the bigger reason b. it looked fantastic on my really tan friend so how could it look good on me? Well, I am sorry to say it took me too long to try! On her, it looked more orange where as on me (I am very, very pale) the blue undertones come out. It’s like shopping for red lipsticks, some have blue undertones and some have more orange in them. I always have to go with the blue but somehow this nail polish transcends that. Since then I have used it on many friends of many different skin tones and it looks amazing on everyone.

2. Essie’s Mod Squad

I like a good, happy, bright pink. This one is great.

3. Essie’s Naughty Nautical

When I am feeling fun (or naughty?) I love this color. It has a bit of shimmer that is subtle and fun. I love teal and while I’ve always want to be the girl that pulls of mint, that color somehow makes my veins pop out more. This is stronger and bolder and I love it.

4. Essie’s Ballet Slippers

I know people love Essie’s Figi for a light pink neutral but I also love this one. It has pinks in it but also has more tan undertones that make me appear a little more tan myself.

5. Essie’s Peach Daiquiri

This one is Cajun Shrimp + Peach (the picture below gives you a better idea than the picture above). I love it for summer. And also I love peach daiquiris so…

5 Favorite Summer Nail PolishesI picked these out of my nail polish collections but as I was linking them several were fan favorites according to Ulta. Numbers one, three, four, and five were fan favorites and number two was sold out so I guess I have good taste.

Do you have a go to summer polish color?

By the way, those links are affliate links which means your purchase helps support this blog at no cost to you. Thanks so much!

Happy Friday!

I’m wearing it now. It looks great on everyone and it makes me look somewhat more tan. Which is a feat!

Nope. I put 2-3 layers on and follow my mani protocol that is on the blog. 🙂

Truth. Essie is my fave. But I haven’t found an Essie that matches Cajun Shrimp perfectly!

I love Ballet Slippers. It’s so easy to pair with other colors if you want accent nails and it really does make you look a little more tan!

I’m wearing Cajun Shrimp right now! Bringing out my tan (I like to flatter myself by calling the slight decrease in paleness a tan!)
